Roof Repair Tulsa OK

Ice damage and hail damage are different problems with different fixes. Tulsa gets both, and a crew that only knows hail will misdiagnose the one that shows up after a January storm.

Ice damage

December 2007, January 2017 and January 2024 all brought significant ice to Tulsa. Ice loads gutters until they pull away, backs water up where a lower roof meets a steeper one, and works flashing loose through repeated freeze-thaw. It is a different inspection from a hail sweep and it finds different things.

💧

Valley and pitch-transition repairs

Oklahoma requires a 36-inch ice barrier in every valley, full length and centered, and again at any pitch change where the lower roof is shallower. Where an older roof lacks them, adding the barrier during a targeted repair addresses the exact places ice-driven water backs up.

🔩

Flashing

Chimney flashing is the most common leak source we find, typically $400 to $1,500, and step flashing $400 to $1,200. In a freeze-thaw climate, marginal flashing that would last years in Texas fails in a season or two as water expands in the gaps.

💦

Active leaks

We tarp to stop the water, then schedule the permanent repair. Emergency tarping generally runs $300 to $800 depending on area and access. Winter leaks are urgent in a way summer leaks are not — water that freezes inside an assembly keeps widening the path it came in through.

🧊

Hail assessment

We count hits per square across every slope and photograph the result, and we distinguish hail bruising from ice and wind damage rather than lumping it all into one claim. Carriers treat them differently and getting the cause right matters to whether you get paid.

🪵

Decking and gutters

Rotten decking runs about $150 to $400 per sheet, and ice damage concentrates it at the eaves. Gutter detachment repairs run $200 to $1,500 and are common after an ice load — and a detached gutter sends the next thaw straight into the fascia.

Roof Repair Tulsa OK FAQ

Common questions about this service.

Don't see your question? Call us at (469) 936-7663 — we're happy to talk it through.

How do I tell ice damage from hail damage? +

Location and pattern. Hail bruises the mat in scattered impacts across all slopes. Ice damage concentrates where water sits and backs up — at eaves behind loaded gutters, in valleys, at pitch transitions, and around penetrations — and shows up as lifted or separated shingles, failed flashing seams and staining below rather than as impacts above. They get paid differently, so getting it right matters.

Repair or replace? +

Distribution and age. Ice damage is often genuinely localized — one valley, one eave run, one pitch transition — which makes it repairable when it is caught. Left for a few winters it becomes decking and framing work. Roughly six in ten homeowners who call us convinced they need a new roof end up needing a repair.

Can you add ice barrier without redoing the whole roof? +

In the places that matter, often yes. A valley can be opened, the 36-inch barrier installed full length and centered as Oklahoma requires, and the valley closed properly. Same for a pitch transition. It is a contained repair that addresses exactly where ice-driven water gets in.

Does my repair need a permit? +

We confirm with the Tulsa Building Permit Center at 918-596-9456 for each project rather than telling you something general — Tulsa's published permit categories are not explicit about standalone roofing work. What is clear is that where a permit is required, Oklahoma law requires the contractor's state registration number to be written on it.

How fast can you get out? +

We are a multi-state contractor working from North Texas, so Tulsa is a scheduled market rather than a same-hour one. We will give you an honest window. For active winter water intrusion, if a local company can reach you faster we will tell you that plainly rather than letting damage spread while you wait on us.
