Roof Experts selected a few of our most noteworthy projects to submit for the ARMA awards. The ARMA awards allowed us to highlight some of our favorite outcomes, both residential and commercial. Lots of skilled contractors submitted projects to the awards this year and we were proud to be amongst the competition. No matter the outcome, we are so pleased with these projects and today we’d like to highlight the Hecht residence.
This residence was greatly impacted by a large Dallas hail storm. After their neighbors received a beautiful re-roof from Roof Experts, the Hechts called us, too! We never underestimate word of mouth which is why we always put customer service first. Despite the size and challenging aspects of this home, we were able to complete a full re-roof in just one day! We provided use of the Catchall to ensure that any materials, nails, and debris did not fall into the family’s yard, keeping everyone safe. When the project was complete, we removed the Catchall and did a final inspection to be sure nothing was missed!

Roof Experts ARMA Award Spotlight – The Challenges
The biggest challenge of the Hecht residence was the pitch of the roof. The angle of the roof meant that we needed to ensure we made additional precautions so that our team and materials stayed safe. The roof pitch was so steep that it was necessary to follow OSHA’s rules and regulations on the matter. All of our professionals were harnessed in at all times. The pitch also meant that we needed to be careful when placing materials on the roof- roofing sheets are heavy! Falling materials could have a dangerous outcome. We carefully placed all the necessary materials in secure locations, ensuring the safety of our team and client. We can happily state that we didn’t have a single incidence during this beautiful undertaking.
Choosing Materials
The hail storm that damaged this roof is not a one-off. Dallas is known for its dramatic storms and errant hail. Combined with the heat of the summer, we knew these new shingles would need to be incredibly durable. Not only that, we were in constant contact with the HOA to verify the correct color of the material. We selected the Tamko Titan XT Shingles with a class 3 Impact Resistance Performance in the color Thunderstorm Gray. Paired with the GAF ISO shield, starter, and underlayment this roof is equipped with multiple layers of trustworthy protection.

Not only are the Titan XT Shingles beautiful, but they are extremely durable. This high performance shingle means the roof is protected for the long-haul, which gives the homeowner peace of mind and keeps unnecessary materials out of landfills. We believe in “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” which is why we also offer extensive repair services. We save time, money, and resources wherever we can! HOAs are beginning to require asphalt shingles due to their aesthetic style and high performance. These shingles are an excellent example of that. They are perfect for the harsh summer sun in Dallas and offer great protection against storms that bring strong winds and hail.
This neighborhood is home to elaborate, luxurious homes and this residence fits right in. The Hecht residence’s steep, castle-like roof construction looks visually stunning with the Tamko Titan shingles. The multiple shapes and seams of this roof required the proper shingles to enhance its peaks and points of interest.

The outcome of this project is a thrill! The scale of the home and pitch of the roof provided a welcome challenge to our team.
