This Labor Day, we hope you have the day off. Enjoy your free time with family and friends! But you may be thinking, “If I have the day off, doesn’t everyone else?” Luckily, there are plenty of Texas Labor Day activities thanks to folks with unconventional schedules. So if you need a way to spend your day, Roof Experts has rounded up some of our favorite activities.
Mother Nature Never Takes a Day Off

This Monday, spend some time outside. We know it’s still hot so be sure you check out our favorite places to be in and on the water! This is also a great time to check out your local parks. Bring a picnic or some friends for a pick-up game. Be sure you check, though! Open spaces will be available for use but facilities and offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Check out the laid back atmosphere of Klyde Warren Park or spend a family-friendly day at the Dallas Arboretum!
Dallas Museums Open
Take a break from the heat and pay a visit to one of Dallas’ many museums! While many of them are closed on Mondays, you can spend your Saturday or Sunday relaxing and learning something new. Check out the many new exhibits coming to your area and spend some time with your favorite works of art. The bonus here- air conditioning! Experience culture without having to sweat through it.
Live Music Labor Day Weekend Dallas
If you are looking to find some new music and really make the most of your three-day weekend, Dallas has lots of options for you! you can spend all 3 days enjoying a full festival or you can spend a few mellow hours at a ‘ukulele sing-a-long!

- Make the most of that extra weekend day by grabbing one last chance to go out! Experience this DJ pop-up on the rooftop of the Ruby Room. While this is a free event, reservations are required so count up your friends and hop to it.

Women’s U18 Softball World Cup
- This isn’t like the World Series that only has US teams- these are the final games of the globally attended tournament and it’s hosted right here in Texas. The tournament kicks off today and rolls right through Monday. Don’t miss your chance to see the best of this division face off in your hometown!

Frisco Roughriders, Texas Rangers
- Both the Frisco Roughriders and the Texas Rangers take the field this Labor Day, September 2. The Roughriders boast post-game fireworks while the Rangers will be taking on the #1 team in the American League, the New York Yankees. Let’s go Rangers!

- To get your basketball fix, check out the Dallas Wings. They play Friday and Sunday so you have 2 opportunities to catch them. And don’t worry about what time the game lets out because you can sleep in on Monday!

Pool Time!
Cannonball! Call up your neighbor or find one of many hotel pools opening their doors for the long weekend. And don’t forget, Mother Nature has some pools to offer, too. And they never close! We know lots of us are going to be beating the heat with some water time fun! And even if you don’t have a big pool to go to or you hate driving downtown, you can always pick up a swwet inflatable pool and enjoy your own personal day spa.
